The Venetian Islands is a group of man-made islands connecting Miami Beach to Downtown Miami and the mainland, via the Venetian Way Causeway Bridge. It is home to many Miami waterfront homes on oversized waterfront lots looking out towards Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline.
The Venetian Islands is a great place to call home in Miami Beach and offers some of the most desired real estate in Miami, FL. One of the main advantages of living on the Venetian Islands is its ideal Miami Beach location. Homeowners can easily walk to the action on Lincoln Road, Sunset Harbour, and other South Beach hot spots, yet come back home to the tranquility and peacefulness of being on the water. In addition, some of the best ranked schools in South Florida are close by, making it a great place for families with kids.
The architecture on the Venetian Islands is as unique as the Miami Beach location itself. From ultra-modern minimalist homes to sprawling Mediterranean estates, The Venetian Islands has a very unique mix of old and new architecture. Homes can range in price from $2.5 million (non-waterfront) up to $30 million, based on views, sq.ft., bedrooms/ bathrooms, lot size, etc. The main streets in the Miami Beach neighborhood are Venetian Way, Rivo Alto Dr, San Marino Dr, San Marco, and Dilido Drive.
The Private Guarded Neighborhood of Sunset Islands
As with the Venetian Islands, Sunset Islands are also located in Miami Beach and just a short walking distance to all the best that Miami Beach has to offer. World-class restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and gyms are located just minutes away, making it a very convenient place to live in Miami FL. Living on Sunset Islands means you are mere minutes to Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Lincoln Road.
One of the things that makes Sunset Islands real estate so desirable is the privacy and exclusivity of the Miami Beach neighborhood itself. Unlike the Venetian Islands, Sunset Islands is a private and guarded community consisting of 4 islands, I, II III, and IV. Being private means that you cannot enter the islands unless you are an owner or visiting an owner.
Real estate prices in 2021 on Sunset Islands range in price from $4 million for a smaller dry lot home to more than $25 million for larger homes with wide open bay views. There are many beautiful properties on Sunset Islands, but one of my all time favorites is located on Sunset Island VI with a price tag of $19.5 million. This single family home offers incredible views of Biscayne Bay and features 4 bedrooms/ 4.5 bathrooms, a private boat dock, and is truly the perfect Miami Beach home.
Oceanfront Homes in Golden Beach, FL
Located just north of Sunny Isles Beach and bounded by the Atlantic Ocean to the East and the Intracoastal Waterway to the West is the beautiful neighborhood of Golden Beach. Golden Beach offers a variety of waterfront property options for sale and is one of the only communities in Miami-Dade county where you can buy a single family home directly on the beach. Homes here can cost upwards of $30 million and have been home to many past and present rich and famous residents, including Tommy Hilfiger, Eric Clapton, and Ricky Martin.
If you’re looking to build your own home, there is currently a 35,000 Sq.Ft. oceanfront lot on the market for $22 million with 125 feet of its own private beach, one of the largest lots in all of Golden Beach. If beachfront living isn’t your thing and boating is your priority, then you can buy a home on the Intracoastal for around $5 million with your own boat dock in your backyard.
Paradise Found on the Island of Key Biscayne
With its white sandy beaches, lush tropical vegetation, and slow island lifestyle, Key Biscayne feels like you’re in another city altogether. Located just off downtown Miami via the Rickenbacker Causeway is the island of Key Biscayne, one of the truly special places in Miami, FL to own a single family house. With its own schools, grocery stores, and restaurants, you never really need to leave home. In addition to the many luxury condo buildings, Key Biscayne is also home to some spectacular waterfront homes and estates.
Waterfront homes for sale in Miami, FL can cost as much as $50 million, especially the larger homes in Key Biscayne. Some of the larger single family homes on Key Biscayne have more than 12,000 sq.ft., at least 8 bedrooms, and a price range of $15 to $20 million USD. While Miami Beach waterfront homes for sale usually get all the attention, there are some great communities in North Miami that are worth looking at as well.
