The project at 2300 and 2301 Southeast 17th Street has been in the works since 2018, when the city approved a 15-year development plan for Tavistock’s 32-acre site. Tavistock paid a combined $187 million in 2016 and 2017 for the two properties that make up the development site.

Tavistock Development Company, a real estate firm with a long history of developing high-end properties, is behind the new Pier Sixty-Six Residences. The team at Tavistock acquired the Pier 66 Fort Lauderdale Hotel in 2016 and has been working on plans for the redevelopment of the property ever since. Later, the firm also managed to acquire the former Sails Marina land, which is adjacent to the hotel. This allowed them to create a brand new Marina Promenade, which will be one of the highlights of the new Pier Sixty-Six Residences. The Marina Promenade will include shops, restaurants, and office space, all of which will overlook the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway.

What are they doing with Pier 66?
The real-estate development firm Tavistock Development Company acquired Pier Sixty-Six in December 2016 and is currently going through a major redevelopment of the property, which began back in 2021. There will be 62 luxury condos in two 11-story buildings and another 31 units in two four-story villa structures. Pier Sixty-Six will also feature a newly designed Marina Promenade with shops, restaurants, and offices.
Is Pier 66 under construction?
Construction has already started on Pier Sixty-Six and is moving along quickly. The marina at Pier Sixty-Six remains open to visiting yachts and other vessels during the construction period.
Is Pier 66 being torn down?
