By Day:

With the ocean in your backyard, it’s hard to imagine needing anything else to fill your days here in Bal Harbour. But what Bal Harbour is best known for is its legendary upscale shopping. People come from all over the world to peruse rare boutiques. There’s so much more to Bal Harbour, though. Hop over to Bal Harbour Islands for a little change of pace or head north to Haulover Park to fly a kite or hit up the… nude beach. (Yep, they have one.) Fishing and fitness classes are also offered. There’s plenty to do here and plenty to explore just outside Bal Harbour where the rest of Miami inlanders dwell.

By Night:

Ever heard of Collins Avenue? The main thoroughfare through your new town happens to be one of the most exciting streets when it comes to Miami nightlife. It seems everything is located on bustling Collins Avenue, from top-rated restaurants to packed clubs. The whole street is a diverse array of restaurants — from Cuban to Asian to halal — and shops. With so many upscale hotels in the area, you’ll never be short of a fancy lounge to drink in.

Where To Live:

Bal Harbour got its name when the developers created a new word to encompass its geography. The “B” stands for “bay” and “al” stands for the Atlantic Ocean because the city touches them both. In this town, you’ll be living on the water no matter where you decide to call home. And there’s a reason they call a portion of Collins Avenue “Millionaire Row,” too. Pick one of the ritzy high-rise condos to call home and you’ll be sandwiched between some of the biggest and best hotels in the world. Oceana at Bal Harbour is one of the most recent additions to the skyline and the last major beachfront property sold for development in 2012.

You May Also Like:

Many neighborhoods have pockets of Bal Harbour amenities, such as shopping in the Arts District or luxury condominiums just about anywhere. But for ocean or bay views, you might try Key Biscayne, Golden Beach or Sunny Isles Beach.
